Henning Moritzen er død, 84 år

Fotoet ovenfor viser nogle af de skuespillere, der var med i radioprogrammet “Karlsens kvarter”. Lise Ringheim, Peter Steen, Sisse Reingaard og Henning Moritzen (knægten på billedet husker jeg ikke navnet på). Sidstnævnte skuespiller afgik ved døden i lørdags i en alder af 84 år. Og nyheden om Moritzens død sendte mig tilbage til dengang, hvor radioserien om et midaldrende ægtepars – Pers (Moritzen) og Bittens (Ringheim) – liv og levned kunne holde en stor del af det, man dengang kaldte Familien Danmark, fast med øret inde i radioen. Serien kørte fra 1967 til 1984! Jeg kan huske, at min gamle regnelærer Helligsø ofte inddrog Karlsens Kvarter i sin undervisning. Det siger noget om kvaliteten af programserien…

Programserien var forfattet af Leif Panduro og Lise Nørgaard og indeholdt en del satiriske kommentarer til samfundsudviklingen. Akkurat som Huset på Christianshavn og Matador senere gjorde – på tv. I dag ville det være umuligt at lave den slags radioudsendelser. Desværre.

Med Henning Moritzens bortgang forsvinder endnu en af de populære, alsidige skuespillere, der ‘altid’ har været der og som har sat sit eftertrykkelige mærke på radio, tv, teater, film osv. Hvil i fred.

Elliott Smith – alternativt

Vi nærmer os niårsdagen for sangskriveren Elliott Smiths alt for tidlige død. En kniv satte en stopper for den kun 34-årige talentfulde musiker. Talentet bliver vi mindet om af sitet Kill Rockstars, der har lagt to alternative versioner af kendte Smith-sange ud til lytterne og køberne. Følg linket og nyd de to sange.

Ry Cooder – om medierne, politik og Mitt Romney

Den globale økonomiske krise sidder fast, og mange musikere er begyndt at forholde sig til det politiske i ord og musik. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – samme og hver for sig – Jackson Browne, Joan Baez og flere til. Og nu er også Ry Cooder trådt i karakter med et album med titlen Election Special, hvor han forholder sig til det politiske. I The Guardian følger han op med tankevækkende overvejelser omkring de situation, Amerika befinder sig i op til det næste præsidentvalg. Pligtlæsning for enhver, der kan læse.

"First of all, you can’t believe the media. You know that. I know it and you know it. So the propaganda against that concept … I would take it on the same level as I would take the gun lobby on any notion that following some slaughter like out in Colorado that anybody who says assault rifles should be banned is going to be roundly criticised and called a bad American. So naturally, in this particular year, we can look and see that the leading edge of Republican interference with our way of life is what they call Obamacare. And this is their flag that they hoist. So anyone that comes along with another idea, let alone anything as explicit as this piece in the opening ceremony, the first thing they have to do in the US media, which is pretty much controlled by the corporations, is to discredit it as fast and as hard as they possibly can. And any time you see anybody saying: "Oh, the American people didn’t like this, they resented it, etc" … they’re lying."

Plus he can go around and in this guise of being a good buisnessman, which he’s not …. and this face – with the big grin and everything – is jovial, but hollow. And it’s outrageous if you analyse what he’s saying, because he’ll say one thing and do the opposite. And the media gives him a lot of attention"
