Borrowed Tunes – hyldest til Neil Young

Det kan vel ikke undre, at også den store canadiske sangskriver Neil Young har været udsat for hyldest på plade – en såkaldt Tribute-plade. I 1994 udkom Borrowed Tunes, hvor en række kunstnere med især canadisk baggrund fortolkede Neils sange på hele to cd’er. Listen over den henholdvise akustiske – og elektriske cd ser således ud:

Blandt deltagerne er: Barenaked Ladies, 54-40, Dallas Green Chantal Kreviazuk, Great LakeSwimmers, Raine Maida, Finger Eleven, Ron Sexsmith, Dala, Emily Haines, Finger Eleven, Dallas Green, Hawksley Workman, Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, Goldendogs, Dobacaracol, Jorane og mange flere. Altså en blanding af kendte og mindre kendte canadiske kunstnere. Overskuddet fra udgivelsen går tl non-profit-organisationer, som Neil Young støtter.
