Skip to my Lou – erindringsstump
31. august 2010Nat King Cole lå i 1963 på den danske hitliste i 13 uger med sin version af børnesangen “Skip to my Lou”. Heraf to uger på plads nr. 2. Kun overgået af Gitte Hænning og hendes “Ta’ Med Ud Og Fisk” og med Elvis (Kiss Me Quick), Ingmanns (Dansevise) og Cliff Richard (Summer Holiday) lige i hælene. Beatles havde endnu ikke meldt deres ankomst. Og Elvis var med flere sange det store navn.
Skip To My Lou blev også et hit hjemme i baggården på Nygårdsvej. Vi forstod ikke en bønne af teksten, men den var så nem at lære udenad – i hvert fald omkvædet.
Siden sang vi den vist i skolen nogle gange. Og i dag dukkede den så op på den indre rejsegrammofon – uvist af hvilken årsag. En af de første hits, der skrev sig ind i min erindring. Jeg var endnu ikke fyldt ti år…

Godt nok imponeret hvis du kunne den sang < 10 Ã¥r… Men det var nok kun omkvædet i baggÃ¥rden til NygÃ¥rsvej..:-)
