Store pladebutikdag: Records Store Day
16. april 2011Torben gør allerede opmærksom på denne mærkedag for pladebutikkerne. Og med god grund. Pladebutikkerne er en udøende art blandt detailbutikkerne. Men de er er endnu. Der er stadigvæk nogle stykker – selv om der er blevet meget længere mellem dem. Og jeg tror og håber, at et par stykker vil overleve i det lange løb, takket være ildsjæle – på begge sider af disken.
Det giver et lille rif i hjertet at tænke på alle de butikker, man gennem årene har frekventeret for at bladre i LP-covers, lytte til ny musik, snakke med ekspedienten eller en anden musikelsker og – ikke at forglemme – indånde lugten af ny vinyl og pladeomslag. Jeg skal såmæn bare trække en af mine album ud af reolen og stikke næsen ned til coveret for at få et flashback.
Men digitaliseringen og internettet har gjort musikken mere tilgængelig og billigere. Og har gjort detailleddet mere eller mindre overflødigt. Til gengæld er musikformidlingen på nettet ikke nået et niveau, hvor det kan kompensere for pladebutikkernes kulturelle betydning. Det samme gælder såmæn også sige om
boghandlerbutikkerne. Og udviklingen står ikke til at vende, selv om man som nostalgiker kan drømme om det. Sådan er det. Lad os bare konstatere det.
Som sagt er der nogle stykker tilbage. Torben og andre københavnere kan stadigvæk gå i Sound Station og genoplive og -leve drømmen. Jeg og andre århusianere har stadigvæk opsøge Dandelion Records/Badstue Rock i det århusianske minefelt. Og der er stadigvæk butikker i flere af de europæiske storbyer. Drømmen lever endnu…
På nettet (!) faldt jeg over en appetitvækker, som en berømt pladeforretning, Waterloo Records i Austin, Texas har lagt ud, som man så kan sidde og savle over, medens man lover sig selv at gå ind i den lokale pladebutik næste gang man kommer forbi:

…har netop fundet pÃ¥ vinyl til en femmer : Det er sÃ¥ sundt – Digte af Hans Scherfig – sunget af Ove Sprogø – og med musikere som Holger Laumann, Fuzzy, Jens Jefsen, Bent Lundgaard, mfl -. Tekster, masser af Scherfig-tegninger og glæde til mange genhør….
