Beach Boys holder fest

I 1965 udsendte Beach Boys hele tre album. Brian Wilson og Co. var inde i en højproduktiv periode – og pladeselskabet så sit snit til at malke guldkalven ekstra meget. The Beat Boys Today! afløstes af Summer Days (An Summer NIghts!) og fulgtes op af Beach Boys Party! Sidstnævnte bestod mestendels af covernumre (bl.a. af Beatlessange) og blev spillet på akustiske instrumenter. Men selv om pladen stak lidt ud fra de mere originale album blev den en pæn succes både i hjemlandet og udenfor – og det hjalp til, at Beach Boys udgave af The Regents “Barbara Ann” blev et vaskeægte hit. Med til historien hører også, at plade var et venstrehåndsarbejde, der skulle give Brian Wilson luft og tid til at skabe hovedværket Pet Sounds, der kom i 1966.
I anledning af 50-året for pladens udgivelse udsendes den igen i en udvidet og forbedret version, så man igen kan nyde gruppens fritimer med indbygget snak og latter.
