Nyt fra Eric “Slowhand” Clapton

“Næste gang må han godt trække i nye sokker”, skrev Torben Bille om Eric Claptons seneste regulære soloalbum Old Sock fra 2013. Og vi får se – eller rettere høre – om han kan hanke op i sokkerne på sit kommende udspil, album nr. 23 i rækken, I still do, der skulle ramme butikkerne i slutningen af maj måned. I hvert fald er der en håndfuld nyskrevne sange med til at bløde op på pladen, der også har en del coverversioner (af bl.a. Dylan og idolet Robert Johnson). Det forlyder også, at en af indspilninger har George Harrison med som gæstemusiker, så vi kan godt regne ud, at den har nogle år på bagen.

Clapton vælter sikkert ikke noget med sin nye plade, men selv en halvsløj plade fra hans hånd er bedre end meget andet, der kommer på vinyl og CD i disse år.
