Beatlesdokumentar af Peter Jackson

Den kendte filminstruktør Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings m.fl.) har lavet en dokumentarfilm om The Beatles med fokus på Tiden omkring indspilningen af gruppens sidste album Let it be. Dokumentaren byder på hidtid useete optagelser med bandet og – notabene! – hele den berømte tagkoncert på London’s Saville Row. Dokumentaren, der får titlen Get back offentliggøres i september i Canada og USA. Og resten af verden følger umiddelbart efter, kan man forstå!?
De to overlevende Beatler kommenterer filmen med disse ord:
Paul McCartney : “I am really happy that Peter has delved into our archives to make a film that shows the truth about The Beatles recording together. The friendship and love between us comes over and reminds me of what a crazily beautiful time we had.”
Ringo Starr :, “I’m really looking forward to this film. Peter is great and it was so cool looking at all this footage. There was hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the version that came out. There was a lot of joy and I think Peter will show that. I think this version will be a lot more peace and loving, like we really were.”
Og heldigvis forlyder det også, at den oprindelige film Let it be fra 1970, af Michael LIndsay Hogg, også vil komme i en restaureret udgave på et senere tidspunkt.
