fejrer Smithsonian Folkways den store blues- og folkmusiker Lead Belly (også kendt som Huddie Ledbetter). Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin, Beach Boys og mange andre har hyldet Lead Belly ved at genindspille hans sange og dermed demonstreret, hvilken betydning han har haft for den moderne populærmusik. Nu udkommer så en oppulent 5-cd-boks med 108 optagelser og en stor bog om manden og hans liv i musikkens tjeneste. Hvis økonomien tillod det, burde man nok have den stående på reolen…
