Tilfældigt fik jeg i dag et genhør med Cat Stevens tidlige sang “Father and son” og det slog mig, at den er en næsten perfekt eksempel på, hvordan poppen kan forene det uhyre enkle og iørefaldende med en dybsindig tekst og skabe noget af nærmest tidløs skønhed. Det er stor sangskrivning mine damer og herre.
