Belle and Sebastian: Nobody’s Empire

12. december 2014

12. december 2014

Fortryllende kaldte Torben Bille canadieren Basia Bulat, da jeg omtalte hendes andet album her i bloggen. Og hun bliver ikke mindre fortryllende, når hun får lov til at udfolde sig i et helt nøgent folkarrangement – uden unødvendige tilsætningsstoffer i form af ekstra instrumenter osv. Nyd hende her.

PS. Optagelsen kan hentes ned kvit og frit…

Vi synger julen ind 2: Weezer – A Christmas Celebration

12. december 2014

Christmas celebration
All around the nation
Won’t you stay with me tonight
Cos I’m running out of fight
And the pagentry is such a bore

Carolers are singing
Registers ka-chinging
And the presents are in place
But I’d rather eat some mace
Cos that egg nog always makes me sick

You know how the story goes
You’ve seen it all before
That man is so obese
That he can’t get out the door

Christmas to perfection
I’m begging for some action
And the ringing in my ears
Is the sound of christmas cheer
Cos they knocked me screaming overboard

You know how the story goes
You’ve seen it all before
That man is so obese
That he can’t get out the door

You know how the story goes
You’ve seen it all before
That man is so obese
That he can’t get out the door

Christmas celebration
All around the nation
Won’t you stay with me tonight
Cos I’m running out of fight
And the pagentry is such a bore
The pagentry is such a bore
The pagentry is such a bore
The pagentry is such a bore, yeah
The pagentry is such a bore, yeah!

Vi synger julen ind: Tom Lehrer – A Christmas Carol

12. december 2014

Christmas time is here, by golly,
Disapproval would be folly.
Deck the halls with hunks of holly,
Fill the cup and don't say when.

Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens,
Mix the punch, drag out the Dickens.
Even though the prospect sickens,
Brother, here we go again.

On Christmas Day you can't get sore,
Your fellow man you must adore.
There's time to rob him all the more
The other three hundred and sixty-four.

Relations, sparing no expense, 'll
Send some useless old utensil,
Or a matching pen and pencil.
("Just the thing I need, how nice!")

It doesn't matter how sincere it is,
Nor how heart felt the spirit,
Sentiment will not endear it,
What's important is the price.

Hark, the Herald Tribune sings,
Advertising wondrous things.
God rest ye merry merchants,
May ye make the Yuletide pay.
Angels we have heard on high,
Tell us to go out and buy!

So, let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend Kris Kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by.

The Doors’ Jim Morrison stod med et ben i beat-bevægelsen og det andet i rock’n roll. Digter og rocksanger i et. Her er hans klagesang til en god ven…. mandens lem.
